As cyber threats continue to evolve, organizations across industries are reassessing their Privileged Access Management (PAM) strategies to ensure both security and operational efficiency. For one global manufacturer in the automotive sector, modernizing PAM wasn’t just a security upgrade—it was a business imperative.
This is the story of how a complex, high-maintenance PAM environment was transformed into a streamlined, resilient, and future-ready solution in just six weeks—with Kron at the center of that transformation.
Prior to engaging with Kron, the organization was managing its PAM infrastructure across 16 separate servers. While the system had served its purpose initially, over time it became a source of operational drag:
In short, the existing solution had become a bottleneck—one that stood in the way of innovation and agility.
Kron’s approach to PAM focuses on simplicity, performance, and security. For this customer, we replaced the existing system with a consolidated deployment built on just three geo-redundant servers. This new architecture delivered:
The journey to a modernized PAM environment began with a deep dive into the customer’s existing infrastructure. Our team worked closely with their IT and security leaders to understand the operational workflows, privileged account structures, and existing pain points. From the outset, the goal was clear: to replace a complex, multi-server legacy system with a streamlined solution that could be deployed quickly, without disrupting day-to-day operations.
Designing the new architecture required careful planning to ensure both high availability and minimal transition risk. We developed a geo-redundant deployment model that could handle current workloads while scaling seamlessly for future growth. Once the architecture was finalized, implementation moved swiftly. Our deployment team configured and tested the new environment in parallel with the existing setup, ensuring that every component—from identity integrations to access policies—met the organization’s security and compliance standards.
Migration was executed with precision. Privileged accounts, credentials, and workflows were securely transitioned to the new system. Throughout this phase, we conducted hands-on sessions with the customer’s operational teams to ensure they were fully equipped to manage and monitor the new environment.
By the end of the sixth week, the organization had fully transitioned to the Kron PAM platform. The entire process—from initial assessment to go-live—was executed on schedule, without business disruption, and with the customer fully operational on a significantly more efficient and resilient system.
The benefits of the new PAM environment were visible almost immediately:
This successful deployment highlights the value of rethinking PAM not just as a security tool, but as a strategic enabler. By embracing a streamlined, scalable approach, the customer now has a PAM solution that supports their growth, adapts to their needs, and aligns with the demands of modern cybersecurity.
At Kron, we’re proud to deliver solutions that simplify complexity and empower our customers to focus on what they do best. If your organization is navigating similar PAM challenges, let’s start a conversation.
